Getting a SEAT job is indeed tough. Those guys come from the agriculture community, and get add-on SEAT training for fires at places like Safford, AZ, and such. A big part of it is who you know. It's not impossible to get a job like that, but probably easier than getting many other jobs. Aerobatic pilots usually get sponsored like a racecar, and/or belong to a formal aerobatic team (such as the Red Baron pizza Stearmans).
