Actually, while riding the fourth jumpseat at SWA once, I was asked by the FA to call the flight deck and ask for the heat to get turned up. After making sure about three times with them that it was okay (they were doing the beverage service), I got on the interphone and called. Captain was a little weirded out by it until I told him I was his guy riding the FA jumpseat.
