Embry Riddle gives you like 35 (im not 100% sure on that) credits for all your certificates and ratings up to Instructor Ratings.
Its each persons personal preferance on what path they take.
My past instructor, he has like almost 1500hrs total time, and 1200hrs Multi time. He can basically get a job at any of the regionals right. Well, he decides he wants to go to college and finish his bachlors first, before he goes to the regionals, that way he can enjoy the flying and not have to worry about the books.
