Good, and that's my whole point. So why do YOU think it's silly. I think most professional pilots would look at it and think it's silly. That's why it bothers me. Shouldn't you be proud of image your academy projects to the newbie? Not look at it and say "this is silly".

Great. I'm glad DCA works and have never doubted that. I also don't think it's the best way to become an airline pilot, but it certainly works. I'm glad DCA graduates guys with 1000 total and some CFI time....that's a good thing.

I attack DCA marketing statements because, as a professional pilot, I find what they say, and the way they say it, repulsive. Same for PanAm. Same for CAPT. However, and I've said this before, if someone comes to jetcareers and reads all the negative posts about DCA, I consider them forwarned. Should they then choose to go to DCA, I wish them the best, cause I did my job.

I mentioned my Amflight friend because he and a guy who is a CFI at DCA were at about the same place a while back, just a PPL. I declared a little race about a year ago between those two...and I think my Amflight friend is winning with a class date for turbine PIC time, and they want him to train other pilots, too. Kid doesn't even have a multi-I.

I don't wish to destroy DCA, it wouldn't bother me if their website disappeared overnight, though.

Show me one corporation that does not put a spin on their advertising and I will show you a bankrupt company. UPS proclaims that their on time all the time. By 10:00 am right? I've had to wait until noon for an overnight package! FALSE ADVERTISING!!! UPS'S ADVERTISING IN MISLEADING AND SLANDER I DECLARE!!! No do I really believe that UPS is accomplishing its goals and scope of their business 99% of the time, you bet your butt I do. Do I think that they screw up every once in a while? You bet. Does the same go for DCA? You guessed it! Yes they do. Do they provide what they advertise? Without a doubt yes. Do people get starry eyed when they think about airplanes? Yes. Do you see where I am going with this. People tend to see the outer shell of things, and more often than not and only vent on stupid message boards when they have bad experiences. I doubt you'll find a website that talks about how great UPS is other than UPS.com . Now do you think you'll find a website b!tching about how UPS sucks? I bet you could. Kind of reminds of jetcareers. It is all relative here folks. Everybody just tends to focus on the negative, it is part of being human. It is your job as a consumer to investigate the product you will recieve upon payment. If you like it, jump right in, if you don't well go on to the next product.

So Mr. UPS to close my rant, do not think that DCA is unholy because of marketing, because your company does the same thing. Marketing folks have to make turds shine, and in both our companies cases, they do a fantastic job! 10:00 guaranteed delivery? Yea right!
