Default I just joined and need some honest answers.

Dear Jetcareers.com Community`
I have been enjoying this website for well over a year and just decided to join for the good. Some background info. My name is Armen Rostami I was born in an Orthodox Armenian family in Tehran/Iran. I have been traveling to United sttaes every other year since the day I was born and Finally on January 2002 I decided to call California my home for the rest of my life. I got accepted into California State University Northridge as a pre-med Microbiology major on March 2002, after prepapring myself to become a doctor for two years I finally changed my mind and changed my major to aerospace (Mechanical) Engineering to continue my dream of working in aviation.
I have always dreamth of becoming a pilot like most of you guys but growing up as a christian in a Muslim country and being raised by very traditional parents I never thought that I will ever reach my dream of having the opportunity to work in the aviation industry profesionaly.
I need some honest feedback and answers from you guys putting into the fact that although a Christian but that i was born in a muslim country that is being named one of the axis of evil by President Bush at this moment as we speak. I also need to add that after a lot of hard work I finally got a call back from Alaska airlines to go for an interview for customer service agent position at KBUR (Burbank Airport) on tuesday the 23-rd of May. Here are my questions:
1- Do I have a chance of ever becoming a commercia pilot or am I just wasting my time?
2- Even if the road ahead was comletely smooth, is it possible for people like me to success in today's aviation industry?
Any comment and answer especially from you Doug is appreciated.
Once again thank you very much and I am looking forward joining you discussing a topic that we are all very passionate about even with the hard times that we are all going through right now.
Yours`
Armen Rostami
