I mean, Disney is a good time once in a while, but the big thing is that my in laws can get into Disney for free which excites Kristie. Well, there's nothing 'free' especially when you come home with bags and bags full of junk from the Disney gift shops that usually end up going straight to the closet or in the "Mickey's alright, but Eisner is satan incarnate" Doug Taylor pile.
But then I keep reminding her that we lived in Orlando for about three years, went there probably twice and probably wouldn't have made the effort to go even if Disney had a "come visit, we'll pay YOU $50!" Perhaps downtown Disney a few times, but I think I've spent less money playing 'drunken craps' in Las Vegas trying to 'win my money back'.
Well, actually, after looking at loads planning for a vacation later this month, it's actually easier and less expensive for me to fly from PHX to CDG (Paris), book a fairly nice hotel, have an authentic "prix-fixe" meal in the Rue Cler and snap a photo in front of tour eiffel - compared to finding a NRSA seat on oversold flights, fly to Orlando, pay park admission, pay for hotel and parking, stand in line for reservations at "Paris" at Epcot and drop $80 on a plate of 'boeuf bourguigone!'
