I'm in the Air Force right now and we just changed the fitness program. When I first joined 11 years ago it was if you were overweight they would measure your body fat percentage. I've always been over my weight by 10 to 15 lbs,but I always made my body fat. The max in the past for young adults was 20% now I think its from age's 18-29 is 24% ? I think you should head down to your local AF recruiter and get the facts because its always changing. At this very moment we have a PT regiment closer to the Army. Run 2 miles, rest do as much push- ups, sit- ups and do a stretch test for flexibility and all the data is input into a program that figures out your fitness age. Like I said this is a new program for us in the Air Force I'm not so sure about new recruits?? Good luck..The best advise I'm sure you are aware of already is eating the right foods and getting out and being active. Don't starve yourself to loose so much and feel lousy..you have an ideal weight.
We Americans have to change our eating habits just take a look at our society. I have boycotted all fast foods..I'm lucky cause I was never a burger person. You don't have to become a vegiterian just cut back on the meat and starch and eat more greens. I bet you'll fell better..sorry for the rambling.
Go for it!!
