Default Re: Need evaluation on life goals

You can try to plan your life out until you're blue in the face. 99.9% of the time things won't go the way you expect.

I have no girl-friend (haven't found that special person yet and do not have plans to get married until I get where I want to be).

Yeah, we all start out that way. Then........WHAAAAM! "I'm in love!" "She's the one!" "This time it's different!"

Let's estimate my age at approx 26 after graduating and completeing 2 years off full-time work.

Let's estimate my age at approx 54 when I get hit by a bus.

I finish my ratings by choosing a Pro course somewhere (probably Ari-Ben). Become CFI and rack up some hours.

[/ QUOTE ]
Sure, why not. I've heard of a couple people doing that.

Apply at a Regional (will move wherever necessary) because I want it that bad.

Somewhere, a gulfstream academy representative just had an aneurism.

Sorry to come off as such a downer, I know that you're just looking for info. The truth is that there are tons of people out there who will beg, borrow, and steal to get an airline job. Lately it has kind of made me sad because it seems like everyone wants to be an airline pilot right now rather than become an aviator through time and experience. I'm not an old salt or anything, but I have learned that trying to plan out your life is a waste of time. It's good to have a direction to move in, but realize that your priorities can and will change over time. Keep on plugging away at the certificates and hours, you'll get there. Do yourself a favor and don't miss out on life along the way.
