Default Re: not another pilot divorce

[ QUOTE ]
I think it is ironic that my aviation education was one of the main reasons my last relationship (13 year friendship 3 years dating) went into the dumper and now I can't fly. Weeded that one out of the flowerbed. Much cheaper than divorce. Although the bastard got the dogs.

So tell us how you really feel?

I'd agree that the being away from home thing for families of airline pilots is a tough thing to have to deal with, but consider that we're talking at most, a week or so away from your significant other. That's not too bad, IMO, in comparison to say Jim/C650s situation...now THAT'S time away! To me, it's not so much the time away that would be tough, but the constant commuting I would think would get old. Then again, being away for one longer period of time every year or so, might be easier than being gone every other week for a week or so, who knows.

But that's the nature of the different beasts, I suppose......both jobs difficult in their own ways.
