From the rumors I've heard the J-model is still having some issues with props. The new 6 blade composit props are not holding up very well from a maintenace standpoint; especially in sandy environments. The few units that have the cargo version say that most of them are still hanger queens. I did see one flying around when I was in Kuwait, but I think I recall it being a British airplane. At that time (last summer) none of the USAF J-models were deployable to that part of the world yet.

I'm sure eventually they'll get all the bugs worked out and I could definately see the J-model filling that role. They re-desigend a major portion of the airplane and I don't think they'll let all that money go to waist.
