One idea would be to try and get a job with an airline such as a Ramp agent or Gate position. I've known a few guys that worked for a Regional Airline for a few years and flight instructed the same time and then got an interview for a FO position.
This is the route that I am going to take. I just finished my enlistment in the U.S. Air Force and am living in Indiana right now. I just got offered a job working as a Gate Agent for Comair Airlines at Orlando International starting in January so I'll be moving there shortly. At the same time, I plan on working on my CFI at a local flight school and hopefully start instructing. Good luck on whatever route you decide to take.
