Default Re: Applying for an Airline Job

So they don't weigh interviewees anymore...I presume there's still an "eyeball assessment" of avoirdupois, no? Or is that ADA-incompatible, too? As someone who's still workin' on a spare tire, it's a concern. Knowledge, skills and experience I can take care of, age and gut are a little trickier. Having been on the hefty side all my life, I'm well aware of the ugly side of weight discrimination and am curious as to the experiences of others along these lines pertaining to airline hiring.

I don't think there's any height/weight restrictions for pilots. For F/As it's worded "weight must be in proportion to height". Gone are the height/weight charts of yesteryear. Good riddance too! A couple years ago I found (and I wish I could remember now where I found it) old weight charts from the 60's. At 5'2", 125, I just barely made the cut, 125 was the heaviest a girl my age (25 at the time) could be at 5'2".. Really kind of scary, I'd need liposuction and boob reduction to fall in the middle of the weight chart for my height!
