Only if the sound waves they're cancelling can also damage your hearing. Basically all an ANR headset does is emit a cancelling wave to eliminate the background sounds. The sounds are still there, but you don't hear them. Or something like that. Physics got blocked out after I passed the class and threw away the textbook.
