Cristl:
The 99s ARE a good resource, if you are not a member I'm sure ERAU probably has a chapter. They have great national-level scholarships, you do have to be a member for two years before being eligible to apply, however (I'll just now be eligible for this year's). Some chapters, including mine, have local-level scholarships as well. I'm sure you know about Women in Aviation, International, as well, (
www.wai.org) but they too have scholarships and you can apply this year. The list just came out on their site. They are due in December and awarded in the spring, so not much help for you now I'm afraid, but several of the awards are for collegiate students (especially those in an aerospace-related curriculum), and several are only open for those who can demonstrate financial need.
Good luck! You seem very enthusiastic and I know you'll chase your dreams with success.
Thanks to those who have kept this on track - I'd never bash anyone for choosing a particular educational path. ERAU and UND are great for those who need 4 year degrees! I'm not in need of that, and neither are others on this site, so we've done it another way and it really doesn't matter to me how one does it. (don't get under my skin with the elitist crappy FBO airplane comment, though...)
Keep us posted on this, Cristl!
