I imagine any documentary of that accident would do the usual dark "cutting corners for evil profits" scam.

There was a dark "cutting corners for evil profits" scam going on at Alaska. There was a huge investigation and the Airline was fined big time.

Often times, I'm a believer in honest mistakes. However, there are interlocks designed into most programs and systems to catch those mistakes.

Mistakes didn't cause that crash - faulty decisions regarding maintenance practices did.

Yeah. Exactly. Faulty decisions. Again, the problem is that Alaska has an exceptional safety record while operating ione of the most challenging route structures of any US airline.

You dont' get that over many decades by being evil corner cutting bad guys. On the other hand every cost has to be justified at any airline nowadays. So I agree with your "faulty decisions" comment, but take issue with any evil intentions.

Airlines are like individuals. You have to look at the whole picture, all their accomplishments. Focusing in on one accident in an otherwise stellar accident-free record distorts the picture of Alaska, IMO.
