We do need rotary guys......even better, dual-qual guys with at least 250TT on the side that's not their primary.
Hate to bear bad news, but there really isn't much for our fixed-wing only guys to do here. The PA-18s are likely going away soon since they really have no mission anymore and they don't want to put $$$ towards it. The Citations don't do much, nor do the C-12/B-200s. Helo is the mission, esp in the southwest.
At my branch, the FW guys
maybe fly once every week or two if they're lucky, and are normally shanghai-ed into the UAV program. That's a proverbial roach motel.......you check in, but you never check out. There really is little for them to do here.
The BL is, FW-only guys are pretty useless to us in these days. The times have changed from before where there was a heavier FW mission.
