I can understand your reaction toward the "BS" part of that comment, but so far as
errors in the logbooks, I have read in numerous places about questions in interviews about if the applicant thinks his/her logbook is 100% correct.
Apparently the gist of the ensuing conversation at the interview is that most peoples' logbooks have some error, somewhere....that a 100% correct logbook, especially at the time/experience level that people are applying for Part 121 flying, is unrealistic. There is usually something missed somewhere.
Again, I think you are correct that 121 agencies don't assume that their applicants have falsified time in their books...but I think they DO assume that there will be little errors here and there.
