As I recall. The America West export thing was when one of the big carriers in Austraila had a protracted strike....some America West guys went down there as scabs.

To say that one could have been a scab and enjoyed a fine career makes perfect sense. CAL scabs would have been overnight Capts. I also think it would be easy to make the mistake of crossing a picket line without thinking the decision through or really knowing what you are doing.

I can only speak for my situation, my airline, and my union, but I'd walk away from the career before I'd be a scab. I think the only thing keeping the top end jobs worth shooting for are the unions and our collective unity.
